Welcome to my web site, SHINYBOOTS ON LINE, I want this to be a fun site, to be able to show the not so serious side of Line-dancing, and to let people out there see that we don’t always wear cowboy hats and shout YEEHAW on the dance floor.

Of course to show this, the obvious place to start your tour would be in the photo gallery section, but be warned, not all is as it seems and some photos here may give you bad dreams!!

Before you do, here is a little about how I began dancing, and persuaded myself to carry on!

I started Line-dancing around October 2001 in Wales and have Eric Jones of Pasadena Western Dance to thank for my aching limbs and feet, being a complete novice, I did what every good student should do and followed the teacher step for step!

Of course no body told me that the teacher covers the whole floor when teaching so every one can see their feet, and believe me, they don’t call Eric “Spider Legs” for nothing, and that was me “Fit For Nothing” after my first ever lesson.

Shortly after I became a keen student and was thirsting for knowledge of Line-dance wherever and whenever I could find it.

This quest took me to many unusual places, (some of which I would rather forget), but one venue in particular was where I began my real education.

I made referrals to many different glossaries of terms but never found one which listed the instructions I received there, the main one’s being:

“This way stupid” “Move idiot” “Get out of the way” “This is to the left not that way” “I’ve told you this before” “Don’t stand by me!”

At least my boots had a good shine!

Hence my nickname……………Shinyboots!

But soon the boots began to take notice of what they were being told, and hey presto I could dance! (although some may say the jury is still out!)

I can now be found on the front line of many venues and yes my boots still do shine, well I do have a reputation to live up to don’t I?

I hope you enjoy my site and enjoy some of the not so serious side of Line-dancing, believe me I am serious about my dancing, but I am never serious when I dance!
